Sly Gear suggests you become familiar with the operation of the window punch prior to placing into your vehicle. Don’t wait until an emergency situation arises before learning how to operate your window punch. Gloves and protective eyewear are suggested prior to use. For testing purposes, place the window punch against a scrap of wood and press continuously until the tip compresses into the handle. (this will require some force). Once completely compressed the window punch will automatically spring back into the object you have pressed it against. This is the action that will shatter the glass. In actual use, gloves are highly recommended as is eye protection where the situation allows. Because of the pressure you are exerting on the punch, your hand may come into contact with the glass as the punch penetrates. Do not test your punch on any part of your body. Do not test your punch against any surface of your vehicle you do not want damaged.
